The elusive beauty

I wake up surrounded by a sea of sand, the sun beats down on my face with such intensity I squint my eyes so tightly I can barely see. A shaddow appears over me, it’s hair flowing upwind as if by magic. I immediately turn to find nothing but a cantine and a note, “Keep it Kool”. The message instantly sparks a memory so faded I can’t tell if it were fact or fiction. I rise from the earth like a modern-day depiction of Atlas, the Greek god said to hold the weight of the world on his shoulders. The sand is thin; too thin, almost the texture of powder. I take note that the cantine cantine is made of a thin metal. I fear bursting it so I place it around my waist. I drop to my knees and do what I have sworn I’d do if I was to ever find myself stranded in a desert. I stand, spin, and start running as fast as my legs can carry me, the sand benieth my feet is so think I sink with each step but I push on with no remorse.

On the other side of a mound it too half an hour of constant running it too to reach I find a Starbucks. I walk towards it looking for my wallet, as I get closer the building starts to disappear and new structure arrises almost instantly. It’s a tall building with some writing on the fron in a language I presume is in Russian, or a language close to. A woman in a tight dress and high heels walks out, she’s tall, has an athletic build and long silver hair. Her dress is short, white, and leaves very little to the imagination. I yell “excuse me! I was wond-” she looks at me and her dark blue eyes take me in, I can’t focus on what I wanted to say. My legs go numb, my lip begins to quiver and I lose all sense of time itself, I don’t know how long I’ve been staring at her but it’s been long. I wipe what I presume is saliva off my lip and ask “Could you tell me where we are?” She smiles, almost chuckling and simply nods. I notice her smile has a certain innocence about it. “Can you speak English?” She tilts her head a bit and the expression on her face told me the answer to my query wasn’t that easy. “What are you waiting for out here?” She smiles, looks me in the eye and walks into building behind her. I stand there baffled by her beauty and decide gollling her is the best option I have. I walk in and find myself in a lobby that’s obviously a hotel but one so high class I’d never seen one like it. I walk past all the vases and the antique statues and into an elevator with her. The buttons have symbols on them that aren’t a language from earth that’s for sure and she points at the red button that I assumed was for the emergency breaks in the elevator. She looks me in the eyes again, I feel compelled to do as she suggests. She smiles and kisses me on the cheek, by the time I’ve looked back at my hand I find it’s hovering over the button. I think about stopping myself but I can’t, I don’t want to, I just feel like pressing that button is all I want to do. When I look back at her I find she looks different now, almost strained, as of she were lifting something heavy. That’s when a crazy thought enters my mind, I lean and kiss her lips with the passion of a first kiss and the romance of a wedding kiss. My hand is mine again and she stops straining, her body goes limp in my arms as my hand on her waist moves to support her back and my other hand gently moves her hair over her ear. The moment seems to last an eternity when suddenly I hear a buzzer go off and a red light flash…
